Pros

Good pay and beneifts and I would have stayed longer if they were not moving the positions to India. Was allowed to work on challenging assignments.

Cons

Moving finance function overseas, so there was no room for advancement within the company only the realization that our jobs would end sometime in the near future.

Pros

Ok money, hard to get fired. Can get time off for family emergencies.

Cons

Leaders not setting company for a growth path. Appear to be making the company more attractable for a buyer. Current Shell culture cannot be competitive with other companies. Lots of useless paper work-- this paper work IS someone’s career. Poor/non-existent carrier paths for technical people. Upper management have stated safety is more important the making money. Have to play the popularity game for promotion. Bonus system is a joke. They assign bonus factors BEFORE doing an employee’s year-end review.
