      Amazing place to start in the cosmetic industry!

      Pros

      TONS of free products Vendors always come in to educate about the brands

      Cons

      When someone calls out, don't plan on taking a break/lunch Often felt micromanaged while on the sales floor Took time to be able to listen to headset voices while listening to customers and other things around you...LOTS of talking on the headsets

      Pros

      Education! Consistent brand and product training is always given, so there is plenty of opportunity to grow your knowledge. Sephora really emphasizes training, therefore you do not necessarily have to be an "artist" to be a consultant, and a good one at that.

      Cons

      It is difficult to advance within the company, especially if one does not have the flexibility to move stores. There is also a lot of competition for education positions, and PRO beauty team (for the true artists).

      Pros

      they offer free stuff "gratis" for work well done, usually signing people up for Beauty Insider cards or staying late.

      Cons

      not a great discount, 10% as I recall. Also, worked there while taking time off from college. The manager agreed to complete this employer form I needed but obv took no time completing it. It looked like crap, basically wrote "I don't know and I don't care" all over it.
