Pros

-GRATIS -makeup/skincare knowledge from the training you receive -training sessions are quite fun -fun, dynamic environment -workers NOT on commission so no cutthroat competition

Cons

-have to wear a LOT of makeup -really crazy during weekends -a lot of stealing to watch out for -cleaning the bathroom -stuff gets really unorganized -even if the mall is closed, we have to stay after if there are still customers in the store (especially if sales goal for the day hasn't been met) -Housewives that shop during the day are some of the dumbest people you will ever encounter. "So these are 100 points each? If I have 300 points, how many can I get?" Seriously.

Pros

*Sephora offers great training for each world (skin, color, ops). Great place to network and get tons of industry training. *They offer a great benefits package for both regular full and part time employees. It starts after 90 days of employment! *If you are in the right market, and desire to further your career in leadership or artistry, the sky is the limit. It is all about promoting YOU! Just make sure you correctly position yourself to the right people! *Lots of free product Fun environment overall, as long as you enjoy what you do! Bottom line..it's retail, the hours are demanding..if you don't like the product category you are working with you will hate retail!

Cons

*Senior management is very disconnected from there store. *New management is not properly trained and basically runs the floor while senor management is in the back 90-95% of the time. *make sure if you know your worth and what direction you want to take in the company so you can communicate that to the right people *Career development is non existent in my store *Work/life balance is okay. My store is great about working with you as much as possible, however in retail it is often a game of where budget is. If you are a reg full timer, you become EXHAUSTED b/c you rarely have 2 days off. EX: tues/wed off, but you might not be off again til sun. makes it very difficult to have a life.

Pros

*gratis *education *being able to educate clients

Cons

The last person who posted about Sephora USA took the words right out of my mouth. It was great to start off with. We got great education! Then we got to see who management really was. There is NO work life balance. I was hired part time and was working 40+ hrs a week. Even though I had 40+ hrs management still had days off. When someone calls out they don't seem to call in another cast member or leadership. They EXPECT & GUILT cast members to stay working. I was hired for my particular skills and was hired to work in a specific area. I've only worked in my designated area a few times. Why bother hiring me if I can't use my experience?? On a happy note I love my other fellow cast members. I also love working with the clients. It is the mangement & leadership that are driving me away. Also for people reading the reviews, it's just not me..more than half the cast feels this way.
