Pros

Steady work. Regular hours usually.

Cons

Was hired for 10.00 hour with 11 years previous security experience including 5 as a shift supervisor. Taken only due to desperation.Actually did supervise and respond as a senior officer on a regular basis on the work site with no interest in actually paying me for it. Was moved to a new location and pay dropped to 9.79 an hour. Branch refused to find me any higher paying contracts and I was told that anything better "Was not for me". Went outside my branch to another branch looking for a transfer and was screamed at for talking to another regional manager by my own. I am not a boat rocker but my branch had me at the end of the line. Found a new job and quit. Never got my Guard card I paid for either after over a year of waiting.

Pros

The only good thing about working at Securitas is that certain sites such as Manheim have potential to earn an average of 20+ hours of overtime, which can be seen as a potential advantage and opportunity to make more cash than expected.

Cons

Most of the working conditions are open to question. Overtime work seems mostly obligatory rather than a choice. Hard to request a consistent schedule. The office where I got hired at NEVER answers the phone. If you want to move up, it is possible but you must devise your own plan of success.

Pros

Stable employment with benefits. Co-workers are typically easy to deal with and friendly. Most managers are pretty reasonable. Work load is pretty standard, not a sweat shop by any means.

Cons

There seems to be very little chance for advancement for most employees, even for those who take the initiative to learn new skills on their own. If you stay for more then a few years your skill set definitely seems to stagnate. The raises for non-management do not seem to keep up with inflation.
