      Not what I am looking for and I find the training for this position less than adequate

      Pros

      nothing different than what id suspected on job; usual to desk delivery of services to contractors, invitees, and public with appointments.

      Cons

      Lack of tolerance for doing things to adhere to prudent safety practices. Management continually tires to justify position by adding superfluous protocol to make things safer, but just increases work load.

      Pros

      Securitas as a company has many job openings for security positions. My experience with them was not positive and that may partly be my fault as I expected more professionalism than Securitas offered. Securitas has potential and some good people.

      Cons

      The reason for Securitas having so many job openings is because they pay a low wage and poorly negotiate contracts resulting in employee turnover. Securitas (and other guard companies) have a habit of overburdening guards with tasks that are not security-related. In many ways, they are nothing more than a cheap labor provider that gives you a uniform to wear. I was paid $9/hour for work that the client was paying their employees $13-15 for. That's why the client uses Securitas and that's why Securitas uses/abuses its guards. In fairness to Securitas...they are not alone in the way they treat employees. Their tactics are commonplace in the security guard industry. Take care out there and do your research! Don't just hire on and blindly agree to "follow post orders". Ask to see the post orders first and get a clue as to what is expected of you for the wage you are offered.
