Good products and service concept. None of it works in practice.

Solid commitment by top levels of management to run a professional, ethical, and profitable business. Above average compensation package for the industry.

Cons

None of that commitment from top management translates to the local level. Nobody is having fun, and everything is set up to fail. Local management is pressured into portfolio growth which often means aggressive bidding instead of value selling. Layoffs lead to excessive workloads, and the result has been that top talent leaves.

Pros

Very much depends on where you work and who you work for. Some very good managers, some very weak managers.

Cons

Very high level of acceptance of mediocrity. Very difficult company to enter from outside, but once accepted, you can hide under the radar for years.

Running around trying to please or keep clients due to poor maintenance practices and poor upper branch management.

Pros

They pay fairly well and have pretty good company health benefit plans. Fairly flexible work hours and with time off for vacation times. Lots of on going training on existing elevator products, services and general training.

Cons

Poor Branch Management in Toronto, no stability in sales department or field supervisor areas, in short too many chiefs and not enough Indians! Too much effort and weight spent on reports back to management...and they don't listen anyway as to what the problems really are.
