      There are some great, smart coworkers.

      Cons

      If you don't mind out-dated technology, complicated processes that don't talk to one another and a highly political environment, this is the place for you.

      Terrible bank to work for

      Pros

      As a branch manager while employed at Santander, I met a lot of good coworkers. Other than that, I can’t think of any other pros.

      Cons

      The culture of the bank was absolutely horrendous. The best branch managers I knew, along with the best mortgage officers and financial consultants, all left the bank within the last year or two. Sales practices were becoming unethical, and any problems you may have with District Executives are ignored when reported to HR. I have also worked for Citizens Bank and Bank of America, and I would recommend working for one of those banks, or perhaps a smaller institution. BEWARE OF SANTANDER!

      Good Part-time job if you are not seeking advancement (retirees)

      Pros

      Great customer relations if you build them; 401K matching, most staff are a pleasure to work with, good comradery among tellers and platform personnel.

      Cons

      Always short staffed, many new managers have not a clue as to how to manage personnel or the workings of the system, including operations and banking systems with Santander.
