Worst Company I've ever worked for.

Pros

The potential to be on the ground floor of a large international bank as it expands into the US market.

Cons

Too many layers of ineffective middle management, aggressive sales driven culture that does not have the customers best interest in mind. Constantly changing bonus structure to make it less attainable. Employees are constantly lied to and not given the courtesy of a reply or even acknowledgement when grievances aired. A former co-worker applied for multiple open positions that he was qualified for and was left not knowing the status of his application despite his inquires, all because he wasn't in tight with management he stood no chance of ever advancing but instead of telling him one way or the other they just said nothing until he finally wised up to their game and found a much better paying jog elsewhere.

HQ

Pros

The hours are pretty good, most of the people are normal and up for a laugh. The company is pretty ambitious for what it is and the UK / Global mix is interesting. The con stated later (personal view of poor mgmt in areas) leads to a lot of opportunities to capitalise on.

Cons

There are some areas of murky management, unsure whether this is from some culture clash from mixing a number of banks together (Abbey, A&L, Grupo). There's a strong Spanish sense in HQ which can seem like the gravy-train at times, individually they are generally good sense of humour but seems to be a spanish old-boys club at the top.

Don't work here

Pros

Misery loves company, so if you want to work here you will probably make friends because everyone is so miserable that they ban together against upper management.

Cons

Worst and most negative environment I've worked in, and I had been in a commission only position prior. The mircromanagement is out of control and training is a joke. They hire previously trained sales professionals and then ruin their spirit by running them into the ground. They will find a reason to fire you if they do not like you personally. I've seen this happen 3 times. When I gave my notice I was in the top 20% of the district and no one said a word. They only care about sales numbers and have forgotten how to treat people. Any platform position in the branch is no better than working at the mall. The right hand and left don't speak so as an employee you can't even solve the issues at hand. And believe me there are countless issues in management not to mention the actual system issues which prohibits you from doing your job.
