Pros
Close to home so the commute was short, a lot of good people work there. Of course, many of them are gone now, too.
Cons
Management is messed up. They overwork you, demanding lots of hours out of salary people. Salaries are so-so. They don't listen to anything the workers say about a job. If a job will take 3 months to do, they demand it done in a month. And they will pile on extra work so even if you think you might succeed, you won't. They lay off workers and then question why the supervisors haven't gotten projects completed. They violate a lot of EEOC laws unless you are gay. They make their gay people the top of the pile. While I was there, I saw how they "suggested" the older ones retire, and if they didn't, then they "retired" them. They waste far too much time in meetings. One project I was on had 15 hours or meetings on the project a week. When are we supposed to do the work? Work the weekends on your own time. They are more interested in technology than producing a good product. And they are failing at the new technology. there is no training on the new technology of any significance. If I hadn't been desperate for a job at the time, I would have never gone there. Leaving there is the best thing I've done. DO NOT trust HR or Speak Up Ethics group. If you have to go to them, and it is about a protected person, you should just pack your stuff and leave.
