Politics & Decaying culture

Pros

The only pro I feel like now is benefits.

Cons

They try to cloud the dead space with these town halls with the positivity, and the Novartis CEO talks about all these great things but the realistic thing is that employees can do whatever they like. I raised concern to HR & BPO about issues that were happening within my area that I thought were not ethically correct and to me it seems like they are protecting or covering these employees. It is unfortunate that this has happened to a company like Sandoz as they had great talent that was recruited. The upper management encourages others to speak up but everyone that I know that speak up are getting let go or put on to get transferred so what kind of message are you really trying to send? The culture was good when I first started when I was in a different group but now it's really hit rock bottom as there are people constantly leaving. There a decent amount of empty cubicles. I'm not going to name which group I'm in but beware if you choose to apply good luck...

Pros

Firstly and most importantly, the purpose of the company but also: - Great career development for people who take ownership and drive their career. Sandoz / NVS Group provide all the tools necessary for their associates to progress up the career ladder; from training sessions, to mentorship programs, to regular 1:1 feedback sessions - A career with purpose. You can learn a lot quickly. You are encouraged to build your network, to get involved in global projects etc. - Good work / life balance. The majority of the time you own your schedule and there is great flexible working options throughout the company - Sandoz hire great people - Competitive salaries and excellent benefits package - clearly defined career paths and support from mgmt. team

Cons

- like all companies and walks of life, at times some people don't realize how good they have it here - yes there is some bureaucracy and red tape, but we are a highly regulated industry so this is natural - it is a large company so changes can take time - systems and processes are behind the times but this is a work in progress

Right now, not worth it.

Pros

If you are desparate, it's a job. But there isn't much redeeming right now.

Cons

It's a generics company. So it's all about spending as little as possible. Currently there is a severe reluctance to backfill any position. Which means where there used to be 12 staff there maybe seven and there's no intention to lighten the load of the seven remaining. There are more and more projects and commitments with fewer people to actually do quality work.
