Pros
Got time off when i needed it, benefits are ok, Bonus every year($300- $750) varies with store. friendly employees. Have a cafe for lunch thats dirt cheap
Cons
Cashier is probably the hardest cashiering job anywhere, they have a transfer rule which means you must move every item from one cart to the other( this gets old fast when you have to move 40lb water cases and 80 lb salt bags several times a day, and yes im in great shape. Not only that but you have to get hassled all day about selling memberships and credit card all day long in which very few customers are interested in. When i went to the sales floor it was slighlty better but still very hard work especially when you are short handed in your department which happened often because management loves to squeak by on a low payroll, this would not be soo bad if management would pitch in and help on some of the tougher days but they will only continue to bark out more orders to make your day that much harder while they walk around on their cell phones and talk to their famalies all day. I am not a lazy guy by any means, In fact I have been one of the favorite workers for all of the places I've worked including here but when i say you will work you will work.( this could also be because i work at the one of the busiest Sam's clubs in america) The first year i loved it but then changes occured where the goal went from customer sevice to taking as much money from them as possible. Maybe A slower Sams Club is different but be warned!!!
