Pros

Good pay for the job. They actually pay more than any other retail position I was offered, and the job was great. I never had any issues with anybody because i did my job. Like anywhere else, if you don't do your job, you most likely will not have a good work experience

Cons

The upper management does not have good people skills and does not know how to build the moral in his store. It's sad. So, so many good employees that have worked for Sam's from 4 to 20 years, resigned because of him. It's terrible and I can't believe nobody from corporate is doing anything about it.

Pros

I have a full-time job and started making decent pay years back and that's what keeps me there.

Cons

Management has very little controls over their scheduling system that comes down from corporate. I have barely avoided having my hours cut and working in a skeleton crew where an absence means catastrophe! Not enough workers to complete assigned tasks, but little motivation to get the help that is needed. The workers with no sense of urgency will not make it here. Hard to remember associates' names when they are all new all the time as they all get chewed up and spit out. I blame home office in taking the controls of our facility and trying to promote a uniform schedule and uniform "member experience". The more my department shrinks from lack of job satisfaction, the more work I am forced to take on and then management decides if I can handle it, we don't need to hire more people.

Pros

Initially when I started the company was very family oriented and the coworkers all practiced the same beliefs. Job security was never an issue with there always being work or tasks to complete.

Cons

In the remaining months of employment the natural family atmosphere was gradually shifting toward a more forced feeling. When it came to the actual work, that was not that difficult just more tedious at times. The most significant downfall I could see was the inconsistent computer generated scheduling.
