Pros

Fast paced environment, customers were great and with a high sales volume and many different departments there was always a chance to learn something new.

Cons

While I was there the turnover in manager positions was high, so it was a little disconcerting to see how easily replaced management was. Also the main focus throughout the whole club was on memberships, no matter how much you had to do with it yourself.

Good for as long as you can take it.

Pros

Job stability. Flexible scheduling. Vacation time. Personal hours. Sick hours.

Cons

Always short staffed. Unhappy management and associates. Operates on a spirit of fear. Much wasted manpower on trivial tasks, while deadlines loom. Unrealistic goals. Payroll always said to be tight when short staffed? No accountability. One manager confided "worst mistake I ever made taking management job here,I really regret it"

Pros

Good people to work with. Good profitsharing, 401k, and stock option benefits.

Cons

Pressured to sign members up for the premium membership and to apply for a line of credit. Very inconsistent scheduling, management is clueless, usually short staffed to be within a razor thin payroll.
