Pros

Stability of Company, some very good managers.

Cons

As pretty much all companies these days, they want your loyalty and give none in return, pay is low for expectations and workload. Stress is unbelievable, if you aren't a drinker..enter management and you will be. The company was much better to work for before Sams death and it became a monster.

Sam's Club MAP: A dysfunctional mess

Pros

-working under a massive company -nice office -great and hot industry

Cons

-where to begin.....MAP is one of the biggest messes of all time. the company paints a picture that it is this fantastic world, where we get to be a part of something amazing. but in reality, people are scared everyday. the person running the company constantly has meetings with the whole company, yelling at them as to why we aren't hitting goals. this post will probably be put on a screen one day and tell a story on how we shouldn't write this and then scare everyone. it's become a joke. -we spend most of our time frantically doing things, and then redoing them, and then doing something else. we launch things that drive little spend, and no one knows what we launched. -promotions don't exist outside of a sparce few a year, based on who likes who. the promotion process is all over the place. even if you get promoted, you get a small increase. -product is about seven years behind. we release something revolutionary (something other companies did years ago)...and then it doesnt work. -did i say everyone is miserable? being in a meeting with people, its like a sad movie -

Pros

Pay was great. Wasn't worth all the BS.

Cons

Horrible management. AWFUL workplace bullying which they turned a blind eye to. Attendance policy was not enforced for the entire year of 2020, which means several coworkers called in "sick" 3 times a week for MONTHS with absolutely 0 consequences. We were forced to pick up their slack, while understaffed, while the workload increased due to the pandemic and management refused to hire additional workers. We were constantly asked to come in early, stay late, and come in on our days off. 10+ hour days were not uncommon. EXTREMELY unsanitary environment. They had sewage issues for MONTHS in which the sewage would back up into the bakery, almost daily, and we would be forced to continue working NEXT to puddles of sewage. The smell was unbearable. Cakes and bread were made just feet away from black puddles. The bakery was NOT ONCE shut down for this issue. I was once forced by my team lead to vacuum up a puddle BY HAND because she wouldn't deal with it. Turnover rate is extremely high. We went through about 7-8 cake decorators in one year. They will absolutely take advantage of you while refusing to hold other scummy workers accountable. I was promised training, didn't get ANY until months later when I had to actually demand it. Until I got trained, I was forced to do all the grunt work and not allowed to do anything else simply because the more experienced decorators didn't want to do the less exciting work. Nearly every decorator they hired was a piece of sh*t.
