Great for training, poor management

Pros

Schlumberger has a great training program and will really mold an employee into an able worker. They have good technology and resources which makes it encouraging.

Cons

Management of personnel is very shabby. The structure of the performance management is too rigid and thus, managers are themselves forced/pressured to 'cut costs' and 'optimize'....mostly by squeezing the employees. Also, employee morale is unusually low (except for a few), and it's strange seeing people hating their jobs so much.

Pros

Salaries are often quite nice if you work in the field

Cons

They treat there employees as expendables. Management is too hard on engineers. As an intern I was forced to work n inhospitable conditions.
