This place sucks

Pros

Company has a wide variety of applications/customers - eat your (technical) heart out.

Cons

This place is hostile by incompetence. Managers without human abilities continue to be promoted or otherwise survive one re-org after the other. Product direction is created largely by highly technical folks i.e., does not meet the market/customer and are monuments of personal whips and wishes.

Pros

This is a stable company that has been in business for more than 100 years. The benefits are generous and there is a lot of job security.

Cons

This industrial sector is very cyclical so the company is heavily affected by volatility in the economy. outdated IT systems is a challenge.

Pros

Availability of knowledge and opportunity for various training courses. Movement within company is available and encouraged.

Cons

There is a definite glass ceiling within the company, which causes most new hires to leave within the first few years so search for better opportunities.
