Pros

Cute puppies, dogs, and sometimes free food.

Cons

You will have to experience toxic work environment sometime around your 3rd month working here. There is a lot of drama prone people, gossip, negativity, and a pretty narcisstic boss. Yelling occurs sometimes without notice and it wasn't your fault at all. Micromanaged on multiple work because, there wasn't another position to fill in for those duties. Pay was very subpar and people will definitely tell you that you won't be getting any pay raise because, it is actually fixed. Pay promotion is actually rare because, not everyone makes it to their standards and they want you to work like robots and you rarely get a raise. Meet some nice people but unfortunately you will meet more fake nice people then actual nice people working here. Gossip is always happening, many people did tell me they don't want to work here no more, and they are going to move on. If you ever decide to work for Shein, just remember not everyone will be welcomed here on your first day because, so many people come in and out here. It feels very temporary to stay in an toxic/stressful environment. There is so many people pleasers here because, they want an name for themselves and it is just better to not get involved with any situation with drama, gossips and fake lies. Lets.. take about nepotism.. it is at an all time high and most likely you will find out about someone's background and realizing they got hired because, they knew someone in the company and only has mid level skills. It is just better to just find a different place to work in then this place then building upon a deadend experience.

Pros

Monthly half day Fridays with cocktail or snacking hour, small group of employees leading to close relations with coworkers, monthly coordinated events leading to meet a lot of influencers in the industry.

Cons

No overtime, no bonuses, 30 min lunches, barely any room to grow, "asian mentality", PTO is 4 days AFTER a year, sick days are accrued and can only accrue up to 24 hours within a year, lots of gossiping.

Pros

Free snacks. You’ll build endurance — not in a good way. Leaving here will make every other job feel like a dream.

Cons

Deceptive and Dishonest Culture: This company thrives on smoke and mirrors. What they sell to the public is the complete opposite of how they treat their employees. Leadership lies to your face, gaslights you when questioned, and rewrites history to cover their own failures. Abusive Leadership: Senior managers abuse power, misuse company funds, and when caught, they throw junior staff under the bus to protect themselves. Cowardly and unethical across the board. Micromanagement on Steroids: Every move is tracked — your badge scans, your bathroom breaks, your screen time. If they could monitor your thoughts, they would. No Work-Life Balance: Expect long hours, last-minute demands, and zero respect for your personal time. Weekends and late nights are routine — and unappreciated. Zero Flexibility: Despite being headquartered in the U.S., the company enforces a rigid office-only policy modeled after China’s brutal 9-9-6 system. Hybrid? Remote? Forget it. Insulting Compensation: Raises barely cover inflation (if you get one at all), bonuses are slashed through a manipulated grading system, and promotions are handed out based on favoritism, not skill. Hostile Environment: Fear-based management. Rampant favoritism. Toxic cliques. Discrimination that goes unchecked. It’s not just dysfunctional — it’s dangerous to your mental health. No Resources, No Support: You’ll be expected to deliver high-level results with broken tools, nonexistent processes, and teams stretched to the breaking point. When it all collapses, guess who gets blamed? Unrealistic Expectations: Priorities change daily. You’ll be berated for not meeting standards that were never clearly defined in the first place. High Turnover: Good people leave fast — the ones who stay are either trapped, complicit, or completely burned out.
