Pros

Get exposure to working with tons of different instrumentation and techniques. The people.

Cons

Company only cares about the bottom line and the slightest downturn in business leads to layoffs (common in all TIC companies). Little room for advancement or promotion if you are good at what you do. You will stagnate in your role if you are good at what you do. No real chance for professional development. The company seems to selectively promote incompetent “yes men” into technical roles which they are grossly unqualified for nor capable of handling.... and these people are the face of our company when there is contact with clients.

Friendly team, good experience for graduates/ people with little or no experience

Cons

no progression very little pay huge workload but told off for working overtime so expected to run around and take short lunch breaks tedious work - doing the same test or task 80-100 times a day, every day

You get exposed to a lot of different types of analysis. It’s fast paced and you are introduced to lots of instruments and products.

Cons

The structure of the company could be better. I went through 2 lab managers in the 2 years I worked there. The turnover is high. Not enough technical training for what they demand
