Pros

Outstanding non-monetary compensation in the form of generous benefits, work from home, and steady focus on core competencies, loyal customers, technology works and does what we say it will do.

Cons

Poor handling of rewards & accolades, stingy with monetary compensation/bonuses, lack of integrated marketing & sales efforts, too many products/solutions, ugly interfaces, lots of tech & stats hype with little focus on the true gains of making or saving money, reducing risk, executing more effective campaigns, etc. Unwanted staff are targeted for layoffs in legal but immoral ways (set up for failure), lots of cronyism, especially among headquarters staff & old timers. Incompetent professional services project management jeopardizes post sales deployments.

Pros

Great pay, great benefits. Standard work week is officially 35/hrs a week, but most sucessful salaried employees work more. Opportunities to shine are there if you are willing to be proactive and take a risk.

Cons

There are some hidden politics and a fair amount of cronyism among those who have been there a while. SAS is still a young company, now grown to a large company, but some of the management and business systems have not grown along with the company.

Pros

First class orgnization in many ways, as others have mentioned SAS in Cary provides excellent benefits, in terms of helping to support a work life balance. Their are oportunities to move across the organization, which for those in sales often proves difficult at times. SAS has had long term relationship with large number of fortune 500 companies

Cons

As somone new to the company, I was shocked at how conservative the organization is in terms of lauching new products. It is hard to beleive that this is a technology driven compnay at times. If someone is looking for a dynamic innovative company that can move quickly, this might not be a good fit.
