Pros

Free lunch in the cantine. Well with those salaries we really need it...

Cons

I have yet to see a company which doesn't take advantage of the "recession". Our manager at SAP would like us to work overtime without getting paid - well i guess all managers would like it, but this one is not ashamed to say it in the team meeting. Although the company is one of the Europe' richest. Now they don't even pretend having dignity anymore. I estimate around 2/3 SAP workforce are contractors ("C-users"), with very limited rights, severely underpaid and constantly under pressure, for fear the contract will not be extended. So come on, don't tell me its a "great company". If the capitalists are let go, they squeeze the workforce as they used to do in the 19th century. Since 1989 they don't have to pretend they care for social values, they lost any constraints since communism is not a threat anymore.

Pros

Competitive salaries & benefits. Access to deep resources in technology for personal growth.

Cons

Very political culture at work. American vs German centric management styles. Management has little regard for employee development and advancement. Management empire building is common.
