Pros

If you like to cruise the cruise benefits are good.

Cons

There is no work life balance. Poor communication between departments. Trying to move up in the company is like pulling teeth and they will usually hire from outside rather than promote from within departments.

Pros

Travel around the world; Good opportunities to grow within the company; Somewhat decent pay; Good balance between work and social life; Great safety policies and training

Cons

Bad crew areas (either poorly maintained, or small, or both in case of the older ships); Horrible policies and rules; Employees get treated like children; With some very few exceptions, managers are usually bullies; Complete lack of privacy (to the extent that your cabin can get "inspected" anytime); Absurd amounts of irrelevant training;
