Pros

Get to work in one of the few jet engine manufacturers Some very smart colleagues and superiors

Cons

Starting salary is very average, especially for engineers Nevermind the 'global company' talk, if you're an engineer, expect to spend the rest of your life stuck in Derby

Pros

A very aerocentric working environment which centers lots of attentions to the aerospace business Big brand recognition among peers A very competitive package A good R&D system is in place to remain competitive

Cons

Not much support is in place for ideas if pushed up to management. "Top" heavy management with not so many workers. Thus resulting in lots of multi-tasking. Too many management means lots of passing the buck but also not much decision making. Cost reduction in place, although its fully understandable in current situation, but sometimes at the expense of the customer. Not much "far-sightedness" from the top management.
