An okay job made fun by the people you work with.
Pros
It is fun working in a busy environment and actually helping customers with products, especially with suits because you're actually needed. I like the discounts. but the most important thing that made me happy working there were the people I worked with - especially on quite days. Good if people to build a river island career - lots of opportunities for promotion.
Cons
The biggest problem for me was the mistrust between upper management and the stores, the ridiculous petty checks in bags, pockets etc in front on cctv cameras and a third person I think made people feel untrusted. Also in smaller stores, being the only person on menswear and expected to be multi deployed is ridiculous - you can't be at 4 places at once. Also chocolate hamper incentives are not enough for staff to drive targets - the worst commission ever, how about gift cards??? Also the store order site needs to store more stock - so many failed orders its unreal. Having to work boxing day is horrible - for me this was meant to be my Christmas with my other family members who I didn't see on Christmas day.
