Pros

Great growth potential both within RC and across brands, still the best luxury hotel provider in the world. A lot of great people to work with.

Cons

Culture isn't the same post-recession, management levels vastly reduced, a lot more integration with Marriott at a corporate level.

Pros

Many hard workers at the "line" level. Excellent benefits for those who are eligible. FOH employees almost always offer the level of customer service promised in the Credo and Mission.

Cons

I worked for the company for 12 years as I put myself through college, eventually obtaining a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership. I often thought of my time at the RC during my college years. At the end of the day, I found the majority of management to be unappreciative of the efforts of the employees. I also found most managers EXTREMELY condescending to anyone in a "lower" position; this was especially true of most of the European managers. This was a hard pill to swallow as I became more educated than the majority of them. I left the job and have a few friends who remain there; I have yet to hear that much has changed. I will say my time provided and excellent learning experience; but sadly it was learning how I don't want to treat my employees now that I am a manager.

Pros

Made it through the recession because of wealthy people. Business groups fell off but are now coming back. Good environment esthetically to work in. Hours are very good, can practically choose which days and times to work.

Cons

Management, Management, MANAGEMENT!!! Need I say more. They need training on how NOT to treat people badly, how not to PLAY favorites, how to COMMUNICATE CLEARLY AND PRECISELY. Communication is horrible between team members and other departments. Lots of secrets and withholding of information. LOts of gossip. The worst personality always get promoted based on the persons ability to LIE, CHEAT, AND SLEEP HIS/HER way to the top. Pay could be a lot better.
