      Not as good as it seems...

      Pros

      - Strong safety culture - Some very talented and smart people - Might be good for a year or two - Working on the mine can be good money for unskilled labour and they will train you well

      Cons

      -You will not get a pay rise, they used to do it but now its inflation only -constant org reshuffles in an attempt to fix systematic issues -base pay is no longer competitive and bonuses have been stripped back -mid level leaders are not empowered, staff are not trained or developed. -leaders get excited by the next new tech shift without fixing existing problems -they will hire external rather than develop internal staff

      You only get the pros if you get hired directly from the company.

      Cons

      They hire by consulting firms and they keep on renewing your contract instead of direct hiring you. Most of the employees are like that so there is no chance to grow.

      Tolerance of brilliant, yet toxic senior level individuals who are disrespectful and abusive Canadian operations and employees viewed as « lesser » employees and are treated differently than Australian or UK employees. Far fewer opportunities than for UK or Australian employees. Lack of diversity.
