Pros

Working with and supporting open-source software

Cons

RH has picked up all the bad habits of it's parent company IBM. They're building up way too many layers of useless middle-management, They claim to be supportive of developing your areas of interest, but in reality they have their own idea of the job they want to shove you into, and will make every effort to dissuade and block you from migrating to an area you want to move towards. Unrealistic ideas of what direction you should be working in, especially if it contradicts the areas you would want to move into. Actively tries to block, undermine and ban any projects that don't fit their narrow world view.

Pros

* Structured Organizational Policies: Some organization-level policies (e.g., compliance, remote work, leaves) are well-documented and reflect maturity in operations. * Access to Red Hat Learning Resources: Employees have access to high-quality Red Hat training content and certifications, which supports continuous technical upskilling.

Cons

* Managerial Culture: Long-tenured managers often operate with a strong sense of ownership, which at times leads to rigid decision-making and resistance to alternate viewpoints. * HR Escalation Effectiveness: Escalating concerns to HR appears ineffective, as the function tends to align more with management than act as a neutral party for employee grievances. * Probation Period Practices: The probation period is perceived by many as one-sided, with unclear expectations and limited transparency, leading to employee dissatisfaction. * Internal Mobility: Opportunities for internal movement or role changes within the organization seem limited, with unclear processes and inconsistent support from leadership.
