Pros

- there are incredibly talented folks, and getting to collaborate with them enriches my skillset - flexibility go leave your desk to go to appointments/pick child up from school - lots of courses/certifications you can take with no cost to you

Cons

- promos/raise windows are open less frequently per year than in the past - salary ranges are reevaluated once a year, but that doesn't mean your salary will be adjusted, you just go down further in the segments, leading to an unsustainable deficit - some managers are micromanagement and do not trust their reportees, this means those folks must document times away from desk, or on customer calls, to prove they're doing their job - frequent management changes - lower level management has no power to actually facilitate your success or vouch for your promos and raises, they're governed by too much red tape and are simply there to listen to you vent - responsibilities grow over time, they now expect us to cover roles that were laid off when we already have a full plate of work
