Pros

- technical challenges - Many very talented staff - A lot of free software guys like yourself.

Cons

- No sales no good salary. - No sales little career path. - Average wages for technical staff. - Consulting, engineering and support are at the lower side of the chain. - Lots of unpaid overtime. As a consequence many of the very skilled people in europe who raise the company to the $1B have left demotivated and tired of it.

Pros

-Benefits -Flexible remote/hybrid work environment (at least it was when I was there)

Cons

Once upon a time, this was an amazing company to work for. It was a company many people were proud to be a part of (including myself). The best ideas won, people cared for each other, and everyone was valued. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Many blame IBM for this, but I began to see the decline even before the acquisition. Although, IBM has accelerated the decline greatly. The recent layoffs serve as the perfect example of how this once-great company has declined. Despite being profitable, leadership (if you can call it that), still made the decision to discard many amazing, loyal, and talented people like yesterday's garbage. Why? Not sure, but maybe it could be due to Matt Hicks' obsession for astronomy - he's been known to mention the phrase "North Star" quite a bit these days. If you're considering working here....don't. If you do, here are the things that will be waiting for you. -Horrible upper-management -Below industry compensation: when I left here, I was shocked at how much more other employers pay. -Zero work-life balance -Culture of disrespect, bordering on verbal abuse, from stakeholders (especially from sales). -Company politics -HR loves to push their leftest-leaning ideology, pretty much demonizing anyone who may respectfully disagree. Despite what they may say, all opinions ARE NOT welcome. -Confusing org changes every six months just for the sake of change -In the span of 15 years time, the company rhetoric went from "open culture, meritocracy, freedom, courage, and respect" to "get your COVID vaccine if you want to continue working here". It's really sad to see such a once-great company wither away.

Pros

Most people are authentic and nice Very minimum hours now you have to show your face after the layoffs. Fake it til you make it. Management decided to cut people without knowing what they did or how their role impacted the company. Now most people left frankly don't give a darn. Others have no idea what their colleagues actually do in new structure. Its now a great place to do pretty nothing and take a paycheck.

Cons

Low morale, those whose really care get burnt out. those who are talented and smart are looking outside for better opportunities. No pay rises, no promotion, no open roles so it's very STABLE if you want no growth, no change, no opportunity.
