Pros

Red Hat has a great culture. They value everyone's opinion no matter their title. People here have strong opinions and are respectful of others' opinions--in fact, they expect you to voice yours. After all, this is a open-source software company. Community and diverse opinions often lead to better products. In addition, the benefits, salaries, and bonuses are great. They may not be the highest in the world, but they're certainly trying to make each employee feel valued. My manager and his peers are often very encouraging of my work and welcoming of new, fresh ideas. In fact, they go out of their way to reward you. I've been in companies where hierarchy was more important, and salaries and bonuses were based on quantitative results (rather than qualitative). There are many huge company events, team events, extracurricular activities (sponsored soccer teams, etc.) and clubs to join. Free food & snacks. Upper Management/Execs are approachable and don't carry the elitist stigma. Once you're an employee, they continue to try and make sure you're happy and on a path to success. If this includes moving to another team, picking up new skills, or moving to another city (remote or not) then they'll make sure it happens.

Cons

You get thrown in to the mix quickly and are expected to swim. If you're on the right team (which is most teams, but not all), you'll have several helping hands. The Brand team sticks to themselves and is often unaware (and doesn't care) that there are other experienced designers in the company. For non-designers, this may not be an issue. Every other team that I have worked with has been awesome and accommodating.
