      Pros

      Some of the smartest people I have ever worked with, and most of them are nice as well. I think virtually everyone at Red Hat that holds a technical job is there because they believe in the open source models.

      Cons

      Some managers are very out of touch. Sometimes it is hard to get things done because of so many strong opinions.

      Pros

      The open culture at Red Hat is a real thing and is infused in all aspects of the business. Of course that does not mean that "every" decision is made by committee. Red Hat still has a business to run so this of course makes sense. The work Red Hat is doing is relevant, industry changing and innovative. Employees are passionate and willing to challenge one another to produce their best work.

      Cons

      Perks frequently do not extend beyond headquarters; benefits package is standard though does not hold a candle to other hot technology companies
