Pros

* You can really learn a lot about linux here. And mastering Linux opens a lot of doors for future. * Most engineers here are very friendly, experienced and very resourceful. * Great life and work balance. Flexible working hours.

Cons

* Traditional development management style and release cycle (this could be good or bad depends on your own opinion) * Not enough training opportunities here, includes RedHat's own RHCE class (not enough class offered)

Pros

Flexible working hours, high pedigree engineering team, low management interference. Lifestyle - working remotely, etc - and highly encouraged community participation.

Cons

Below average pay scale, increasingly political environment. Product management wrestling increasing control over upstream open source projects. Somewhat adversarial relationship between business and engineering.
