The environment was an "us vs. them" environment in which the Sales Managers and Recruiters were always blaming one another when filling job requisitions was difficult.
The environment was also one without trust- at the end of each day, you wondered what your coworkers would say about you once you walked out the door, because gossip ran rampant during work hours. Management turned a blind eye to this and often engaged in the conversations.
Proper training was not provided. Training was typically about two days long for recruiters and consisted of reading through 100+ PowerPoint slides containing jargon specific to technical recruiting, completing a couple of mock phone interviews, and then calling candidates from a list the recruiter had selected based on the requirements of an open requisition. Being a first time recruiter, this was discouraging because the process was rushed and did not provide a sense of confidence.
Training methods were inconsistent among employees.
