Pros
You get the opportunity to work with a great variety of clients in a fast-paced, strongly competitive environment. If you are serious about wanting to improve your technical recruiting skills, there is no better training ground. You'll get a lot of freedom when it comes to the which reqs you want to work on and how you want to find your candidates.
Cons
If you are expecting guidance, feedback and training, then you will be disappointed. Management expects you to learn on your own and to work independently. You will only be responsible for the candidate part of recruiting. You will hand your screened candidates over to the account management assigned to the open req. Consequently you will have to be able to completely trust your account manager for this part of the recruitment process, which often leads to communication errors and frustration. Furthermore, I've noticed that technical recruiters who did not stand their ground often had to deal with a lack of respect from the account managers.
