Strange

Pros

Weekly pay is the best.

Cons

They have their "favorites" and unless you call them daily, you are forgotten even though your skill set is advanced and diverse. You can go for months without a call or email from this group. When you call them and ask for any potential jobs, they act like you are totally a stranger to them.

Very Deceiving

Pros

-Not many meetings -Allowed to manage your own process -Pay close to market for a base salary

Cons

-My office had 100% turnover within my time there -HUGE lack of training - even the new training program isn't enough -Internal politics were an issue -Salary expectation was set way higher than what I was offered and had to counter back up to what they told me they paid. -Expectation was set that there would be a ton of business to work on - in reality many recruiters would go a few days - a week without something to work on when our jobs were "covered" -A lot of the business is VMS focused and treated like it's good business when they are unable to have contact with managers or even get feedback -Account Managers have never recruited and don't know how to manage candidates or set expectations with clients (from the lack of training) -Leadership wouldn't address any concerns (sometimes because they weren't getting the information also) -The office leadership would throw employees under the bus to save face with the business -Spread splits - half of the spread goes to the Recruiter and half goes to the AM - this is not market standard anymore. -Back office made mistakes weekly - I had consultants who had submitted their time correctly and still had payroll and benefits issues solely because of a Randstad mistake

Basically Headhunting

Pros

They have a variety of jobs being presented as "open" at most times.

Cons

There is more of a fixation on getting someone working at the place with the most pressing need rather than at a location where their skills would actually match. I applied and was called in to interview for a data entry position and was sold on a job with "data entry" and "some other duties". It turned out it was a job as a mail clerk in like a ten story office building....with virtually no data entry.
