Pros

Simple work Well known company Reliable support from Randstad office Friendly coworkers Sales commissions available under the Progress Energy project

Cons

Customers that you speak with by phone can sometimes be very rude Progress Energy, the project I work for, is a very strict company who regularly increases their rates and this understandably upsets their customers Billing work often is boring and repetitive Medical/dental insurance is comparatively expensive since the pay rate is so low

Pros

The people I work with are fantastic. The organization has a clear focus and metrics in place to support their growth strategy. The field employees are given autonomy to make local decisions regarding what is best for their client base.

Cons

I understand the challenge of recent economic impacts which resulted in corporate and field restructuring to reduce headcount and become more profitable-great for the shareholders. However, we are going on year #2 of frozen salaries and no employer match in 401k. Those invaluable employees which are described by the President of the company are not being compensated commesurate with their actual performance. The bonus program continues to be the 'carrot' dangled in front of your nose which you never quite get close enough to take a bite. As a manager who has year over year growth in both revenue and gm$, I have yet to see any form of monetary bonus. Not to mention, the company is hiring new managers and bringing them in at much higher base salaries than the current management team.
