Pros

I honestly can't really think of much. Except you get to help people find jobs and the base pay isn't bad, but when you factor in all the work and stress they need to pay their employees more.

Cons

Management was horrible. They left me in a branch alone. They give warnings while you are in training. Absolutely no probationary period. Turnover is bad. They tend to forget different cities have different market trends. Too many time wasting conference calls and webinars. They are obsessed with role playing. The training is 6 months long and it's all long tests and webinars. Micromanagement even though they didn't have a manager in my location. They set you up for failure. They knew who they were hiring, people with little to no staffing experience yet they don't have a manager regularly on site to help. They overkill on sales. Lots of prospective clients decided to not use Randstad due to the amount of emails and phone calls they were receiving. Management makes fun of people that come in and apply. I've heard everything from that person is dumb or that person is stupid and the list goes on and on. Little respect of people or where they might come from. Overall terrible corporate structure. I felt like a number.

Not for everyone

Pros

- If you are motivated by a numbers-driven sales environment, you can make good money, but it will take years to build up to that. - The corporate culture is all about working hard then partying hard, so there are a lot of fun corporate events. The annual charity auction is a highlight. High achievers go on the very ritzy president's club trip to an all-inclusive resort. - Diverse workforce: you will make friends and fit in somewhere. There are a lot of great people who work here. - You can move within the business into different departments or roles.

Cons

- Training for new hires is light to non-existent, with the exception of the national team. - If you don't drink, you probably won't feel comfortable here as there is a big emphasis on party culture. - Your happiness, freedom and overall experience will vary dramatically based on your manager. - Boys Club culture. Senior leaders advise women in sales/business development to use their gender and looks to get new clients. (I was advised by management that my competitive advantage was the fact that my business prospects "want to talk to a woman who isn't a ball buster like their wives." And here I was thinking that I was hired for my mind and tenacity.) - Zero boundaries between personal life and work life: friends, family members, lovers, and coworkers are put in a blender. - Intensely competitive environment won't work for everyone. - No repayment for employee expenses. - Compensation is below average for the industry.

Avoid These Recruiters

Pros

They came to me (I was not looking to use their recruiters) because I was a great fit for multiple openings they were looking to fill.

Cons

Only to find out they are either the most unprofessional or simply lazy and to this day neither, of the two, have followed up about the positions with their clients; I even followed up but never got a call back; poor leadership. Recruiters are disturbed when they get ghosted (because they only want the bonus for placing a candidate), but are the reason it occurs; they are the ones who started the trend and Randstad takes the cake when it comes to low class. Sad but the truth.
