Pros

The training is world-class and compensation is very competitive. Plus the opportunity for bonuses helps to keep income even higher.

Cons

Randstad has a sales-focused and profit-driven environment. Pretty much all of the quarterly calls and conversations with management center around the question of how your business is going to grow or continue growing. It tends to contribute to a feeling that nothing you do is good enough, but if you can look past that and realize that in the big picture of the staffing industry, competition is fierce, you'll understand why the company needs that directive.

Pros

May offer the opportunity to work for a client who might otherwise not be accessible as a direct consultant. Telecommuting flexibility, depending upon the client.

Cons

Administrative staff are friendly, but consulting associates are typically treated as warm bodies - volume is most important. The only job security is what you bring to the table every day, and job growth and opportunity is what you initiate and cultivate on your own. Requests for compensation increases are initiated by the employee and are accepted by client when employee performs well.

Pros

After a few years, they eventually raised my hourly rate and started giving benefits (health, 401K). They seem to be moving in the right direction. They also had good leadership (directly above me) that seemed to care for us.

Cons

There was barely any room for advancement, so it never really felt like a long term position. As such, we saw people come and go frequently. Also, the first few years, there were no benefits offered, which forced me to look for other jobs.
