Jobs applied for internally may have been held previously by 3-9 people Company has a "shooting star" mentality for top performers -- often fooled by narcissists, shameless self-promoters, and connected sycophants. Hard-working, quiet, unassuming and humble leaders are often passed over unless they've learned how to play the game. Technical expertise and decency take a backseat to promoting "the next big thing" for the company.
