Pros

Compensation for jobs well done are great -- individial acheivement awards are given to individuals who perform excellent jobs -- a nice peice of paper saying "individual acheivement award" and a little extra in the pay too. Flex time is great. Benefits are great. People are great. Facility gives great feedback on projects. Senior management is always concerned about making sure new hires like their new job -- they are very willing to move poeple around until they are content.

Cons

None that I know of -- except we're a defense company, so with Obama as president I'm sure there'll be a few layoffs in the future.

Pros

work/life balance, casual dress code that is highly conducive to a productive environment. I've seen much smaller, lesser companies make a big issue out of a dress code and drive employees crazy when they don't even have to meet customers in person. People can do a lot more when they are comfortable. I thought the benefits were decent and I thought the people were very friendly and professional.

Cons

I don't know the company well enough at this point to critique it.

Pros

Very mature processes and systems related to employee and career development. You are able to work on projects that matter and that keep soldiers alive and our nation secure. Raytheon does a very good job connecting your day to day work with the strategic direction of the company.

Cons

Extremely political - if the boss likes you, then that's all that's required. Creates an environment where 'kissing up and kicking down' is actually encouraged (though I don't believe this is on purpose). VPs feel as if their word is law and are confused when someone dares to differ in their opinion - they are surprisingly disconnected from the working lives of their staff, but feel as if they're in the loop.
