Pros

Direct-report supervisors are great. Appreciated professionalism of my co-workers. Great to work with them. Flexible schedules allow work-life balance, but there is a penalty for taking advantage of them. Paid time off between Christmas and New Years. People identified as high-potential can expect to see encouragement and support from management in terms of career advancement.

Cons

Can not trust communication from Upper management. People other than "high-pots" may be limited in career advancement, though immediate supervisors may provide support. Raytheon has a policy of rotating upper management from site to site, and there has been less promotion from within. Nepotism is alive and well. No windows

Pros

The company's benefits package is good.

Cons

For a company that says its employees are its most valuable and important asset experience proves this to be not true. Every year the company reduces headcount through lay-offs to make their numbers look better. 99% of their business is DOD/IC related so seeing them lay-off veterans is pretty sad, especially when many of the senior leadership has never served in the military. They like to play the big numbers game and seem to have lost sight of what is really important, serving the customer and taking care of its employees. Additionally, way too much internal competition that gets in the way of collaboration and actually helping the end customer solve complex issues with smart solutions.
