Pros

Onboarding and education, great coworkers, leadership hiring hardworking and very talented individuals

Cons

Micromanagement by leadership team and field leaders, leaders passing 90% of work onto sales and support teams, overworking sales and support teams leading to stressful environment, strenuous retail hours, under-staffing within design and sales teams, not taking interest in advancement of employees outside of leadership team, minimal raises annually, strong sarcasm and poor client treatment on leadership level, too much time spent focusing on "values" which seemed to have led to more drama than necessary, overpricing of mediocre furniture

Pros

-Friendly/helpful coworkers -Managment truly believes the "mantra" The people that work at RH truly believe it is the best company. What I noticed was that you will be a good fit for the company if you fit into their corporate mold. As long as you are a follower this is the right place for you.

Cons

-Managment cuts hours to save money i.e. if you are scheduled to work 6 hours you may be asked to leave after 4 hours -Very bureaucratic. Lots of "red tape" -Loose values that can be misconstrued depending on the situation -If you don't get along with your manager on a personal level don't expect to get anywhere -No benefits for part-timers -No innovation: RH is stuck in the past. Just look at the website. Although iPads are used in the galleries, the software used is bloated and complicated -Understaffed galleries where workers are stretched very thin -Low morale: I have heard various employees complain about RH but nobody would dare say anything to management for fear of reproductions -Managment talks about endless opportunities but this is just to keep morale high After reading other reviews I completely agree with the "cultish" environment. My first week of training I felt like I was getting brainwashed by the CEO with their onboarding videos etc.

Pros

My colleagues were some of the kindest people. I had the opportunity to make many valuable friendships during my time there. Overall, a very fun-loving bunch.

Cons

It's a cult. They require a minimum dose of brainwashing per day. In our particular store we were made to recite the "values" until we had them memorized. All of the said "values" are constantly shoved down your throat, though not a single leader actually lives by them. They would never want you to know, but they purchased the "values" and the rights to the idea that someone else created. They would not want you to know this because they want you to think the CEO is god-like and aw-inspiring. This is not the case. If you do not change who you are to mold into who they want you to be, you will not make it. They want every one to be cookie-cutter, brainless, zombie-like sales people- chanting their company views and praising them. They don't care about you, or your growth, they want you to make as little money as possible but work harder than 10 of you combined.
