Pros

1) Totally cool people. Mentor and manager were always helpful. 2) Unlimited amount of technical resources. Many technical documents, tutorials and patent files are always accessible. 3) Room for innovation. Management always tries to inspire the employees to innovate and provides them with necessary resources. 4) Good pay and perks.

Cons

Nothing much on this front. Except at the times when there is a critical issue, work life is pretty much balanced at Qualcomm.

Pros

Slightly better than average compensation, most people are overpaid Lunch and breakfast in cafeteria Good Insurance Coverage

Cons

Office politics and nepotism Promotions on the basis of time spent in company rather than performance In general no mentor-ship and help in personal growth from manager(prevalent), your background and interests are never considered. Very low increments with high performance ratings No work satisfaction, mostly bureaucracy consumes time even at fresher level Difficult to change teams within the organization Nobody in the surrounding has enthusiasm about their work Average work is appreciated as achievement.

Pros

Very good work culture with no micro-management. Flexibile work hours for the most part. Oppurtunity to work well-knowledged people in respective areas.

Cons

Work might be cumbersome and non-exciting (most of the R&D is in San Diego). Development here typically implies bug-fixing and log-analysis. Low salary compared to other industry players.
