1. engineers dont always make good managers 2. lack of vision for the company as a whole, as well as the divisions 3. lack of communication and cooperation and alignment across divisions

Pros

good benefits and support for career advancement. lots of opportunities are available to explore skillsets. two review periods per year means two chances for raises and bonuses. good executive management and hiring standards. workplace benefits are astoundingly good - including health, fitness, and further education.

Cons

salary lower compared to other tech companies(esp in the bay area). Spending too much in R&D and not enough in the consumer market. Not sure of security down the road as QC's share of 4G licenses are much lower than what it is now. Acts like a chip company with plenty of software engineers, but not as a software company that makes it's own hardware (yes there is a difference).
