Pros

Nice people, accommodation provided, 1 hr social time on fridays (drinking, drinking games,"free"drinks), Very nice trainers

Cons

The contract is truly awful, there is a backout window of 4 weeks, they set you on a trivial group project (EA) for two weeks with no real goal other than to make friends, next two weeks is easy, after the 4 weeks is up, they start treating you awfully First 12 weeks is no pay until they get you a client, and then they ship you out, if you quit they ask you to pay £1000 per week at the academy, for training costs, (they left us in a room with a computer with a gcse style computing project to do) no real training this 12K is held over your head for 24 months, stopping you from quitting. any time between clients, you are on a base rate of 15K, and are expected to be able to move to different ends of the country on a weeks notice, its tough.

We do work hard to make sure both the graduate training programme and subsequent projects based on-site at clients set our employees on a great career path into IT consultancy. We feel – and this is reflected in many of the reviews here on Glassdoor – that in the majority of instances this is achieved. It would be great if we could discuss you particular situation, both to see how we can improve your experience but also take on board any lessons to make sure we keep to the high standard we set. You can do this by emailing QACfeedback@qa.com.

Pros

Very difficult to find pros. Some friendly coworkers. Drinks on Fridays. Pool table.

Cons

The way this company deals with consultants is awful. The following is not a joke nor exaggeration. SALARY WILL NOT INCREASE after a year working despite being told before joining that it increases year on year from £23.5k to £28.5k to £40k+, despite making hundreds of pounds of profit on each consultant on site PER DAY. £12,000 fee if you want to leave within 2 years which I dont think is even remotely equal to the shoddy 'training' provided. To actually use the word training is actually an insult as literally ALL my coworkers and I learnt very little from our time there. So many other lies told to sell you the job so the recruiter can make a profit. If there's one thing QA are world class at, it's lying shamelessly to your face, over the phone and in emails. Though simple emails are ignored constantly anyway. Repeatedly told they want to keep consultants on after 2 years but how is that gonna be possible if QA barely respects us.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We understand that you have not had the best experience with us, but appreciate the feedback you have provided us with. We are legally obliged to declare a clear salary, and the payback implications of your training fee should you leave the company before the period agreed. We would hope that to support this, your manager and recruiter also explained this in detail to you. We have passed on your feedback to the appropriate leadership teams to investigate how this miscommunication may have occurred, and please be assured that we will take the best course of action to rectify this for any future intakes. We wish you the best of luck for the future.

Parent company has ruined this company

Pros

Still some good people left there, fully remote

Cons

Parent company is big-time micromanagers, took all of the product team off of developing CA's product, communication is almost zero and what does trickle down is smoke and mirrors. Unless you're unlucky enough to be around one of the executives who likes to literally scream at you. And they fire people with zero notice without telling the rest of their team. No investment, no budgets, no culture and every day wondering if you'll be fired. Only join if you have no other options.
