Pros

- Fantastic head start in a career in a tough industry that champions commercial experience, but where a junior role requires 1 years experience! - Excellent Training with some of the most hard-working, experienced and dedicated Trainers and Managers in the field. - Innovative solutions for delivering Training to cater to all kinds of learning styles. - Desire and capability to take delegates from a broad range of socio-economic, cultural and educational backgrounds in order to create a future diverse IT community that we all decide. - Partnered with BCS and working to ensure training is aligned with globally recognised standards. - Ongoing support after the Academy to drive your career progression, including access to a leading virtual Training platform and funding of a certification journey. 3 years ago I was stacking shelves in a Supermarket. Today I am a Training Manager responsible for a team of 10 industry experts delivering training to hundreds of delegates every year, working with clients from a variety of industries. I am only here due to the support and boldness of the wider QA team. Where will you be in 3 years if you join?

Cons

The academy is an intensive program and you need to be focused and driven to succeed, however, the team at the Academy is more than capable of supporting you!

Pros

Absolutely nothing that is worth mentioning.

Cons

Be very careful - they are experts at selling dreams. If you're looking for a temporary job than this a good company, most sales people don't make it past the first year (two if they're lucky). They restructure at the beginning of every financial year and will get rid of many people a few months before - this is a trend they've been following for several years. Ever since the Conservative government relaxed employee rights making it easier for companies to fire people without any accountability or consequences unethical organisations like QA have been taking advantage of the system.

Pros

1. Training, courses and certificates paid for 2. Nice staff 3. Working with some very big companies, very good opportunities to build your CV 4. Travel and work expenses paid

Cons

1. You get locked into a two year contract, stating you can't leave. If you do leave within the two years, they'll fine you £12,000. How enforceable this is, I am not sure, but I didn't take the risk 2. Salary doesn't really grow that much even after two years. I started off with £26,000 and now I am £30,000 after two years :( 3. This isn't really a consultancy for experienced software engineers. Its for grads. Once you do your two years, probably best to find another better paying job.
