Pros

I met some nice people while I was there. Made good connections and still speak to a few here and there.

Cons

Direct manager was unprofessional and rather trashy. She regularly had fights with other employees. Was told by a colleague that she was voted "most likely to get into a bar fight" in college (eye roll). She treated me and others poorly and made herself feel better by saying she was very "blunt." I'll say. It was just her nature. Not to mention she regularly wore low-cut shirts and and no one wanted to see that. She's a manager but should not have been...other offenses included yelling, talking trash about other employees, and audibly whispering with another catty employee. For whatever reason, the company felt she should be in her position and supported her. That was a pretty clear indication to me that the company was not up to par quality-wise and I'm glad not to be there. A few of the executives were absolute jerks as well. One in particular liked to trash talk people and generally swagger around and act intimidating. I believe they let him go at some point, or so I heard. CEO was nice enough but did not seem completely sincere for some reason I can't put my finger on. . . I recently spoke with another former employee who said he had PTSD from the place. I never felt comfortable there, it felt like a cliquish middle school. I really thought I had blinked and gone back to the seventh grade.

Pros

They will hire you right out of college; That's about the only good thing about this company. I would've put nothing but I suppose them being desperate for workers benefits those who have no employment history.

Cons

1) Employee turn over rate is stupidly high 2) Human Resources is non-existent 3) Growth/promotions rarely happen 4) They are fantastic at withholding pay checks with little to no remorse in regards to the employees who are suffering from their errors 5) They use the fact that they are a new company against everyone they employ 6) Across the company, none of the locations are satisfied with the results of the Quest and Quintiles merger 7) Even those who get hired right out of college through an agency begin to avidly search for a better job 8) They preach that they care about the quality of your work but in reality they only care about the quantity you output to the company 9) Working here makes everyone depressed/angry 10) The company will never care about you but your coworkers will and that's what ends up making it hard to leave.

Pros

Not many. Overtime is available (sometimes required).

Cons

Little work life balance unless you’re in the wet lab department where you can come in early and go when your work is done. Even then the workload is overwhelming at times. It’s a frequent occurrence to hear people crying in the bathroom over not having enough time for lunch or being overwhelmed by the amount of work. As for the science, I worked in the instrumentation department and the instruments that were used were severely outdated. If you want to learn what the industry standard was 10-20 years ago then this is the place for you. Not worth it to come here for applicable industry experience. You’re also treated like a robot and given an excessive assignment of instruments to handle daily. No time for actual in depth learning of instrumentation that you can take with you to other places. You do however get to spend hours making reagents using a new system they’re trying to implement. Management only cares about numbers especially in the wet lab department. Generally the workload and the way they operate is unsafe for employees. Not only that, I’ve had my lab safety concerns gaslight by the EH&S manager to the point where I almost got OSHA involved. If you’re looking to move up in the company forget about it. They prioritize external hires over internal ones. On one occasion an employees personal social media posts were brought up as an excuse not to promote them. They judge internal candidates on personal relationships rather than on if they have the skills to do the job. I’ve also seen talented wet lab analysts frequently passed over for promotions due to managements fear of loosing them. Often times they leave the company anyway. Also take note if you’re looking for a jumping off point for your career, management can’t give you letters of recommendation even for former employees. If you’re considering working here make sure you read these reviews and watch your back. It sounds silly but you can’t trust anyone especially if you want to move around in the company. Also don’t expect management to actually listen to you. In the end all they care about is the numbers and not having skilled employees. Finally, no perks that you’d see at comparable companies. The company used Covid as an excuse to stop hosting events that boosted morale. It would’ve been nice to at least have free snacks in the break room. If you want a bag of chips you better have $1.50!
