      Great learning experience, but look elsewhere for career advancement.

      Pros

      PwC offers competitive pay, good benefits, a great working environment and an excellent learning experience. I learned a lot during my tenure, for which I am very grateful. Overall, the people are good and the managers generally treat their people well. Perks are decent as well, including expensed car service and dinners for overtime.

      Cons

      Opportunities for advancement is limited. Advancement is dependent on an effective network and ability to get attached to the right engagements. Coaching / mentoring exists, but is not too effective, typically due to limited interaction with other associates that are not on your immediate assignments.

      Good place to start a career

      Pros

      brand recognition for the next job; exposure to different companies and functions which is helpful as you consider your career; broadens your professional network as long as you are good at keeping up contacts from previous engagements

      Cons

      Long hours especially during busy season and there's no way around it; very large practice so really need to either find a good mentor or spend a lot of time smoozing to get yourself known; compensation is not great if you factor in the hours worked - can do much better in industry or eventually work for a client
