Pros

The people you work with and the constantly changing environment, creates an exciting and challenging environment to work in where the next good idea can come from anyone at any time. Your clients are some of the more interesting and significant businesses and so present varied and new challenges frequently. Further through your training and the stature of PwC you are respected by your clients as a trusted advisor and source of information. The opportunity to influence or change your career always exists althogh sometimes it can be more challenging to achieve this than others there is usually a way if you have a particular goal/ambition in mind.

Cons

The hours, busy season can be a long period and you have little opportunity for vacation in these periods, so forget that skiing hobby because Jan - Mar is a no go area for most people.

Pros

Compensation, lots of opportunities to experience a variety type of projects, work with greatest companies in the country (as your clients), work with intelligent co-workers. I had the opportunity to get a promotion within my first year in advisory, which is rare. If you want to grow and learn, upper management will value you tremendously and support you and get you on big engagements. There are a lot of training opportunities. The compensation package is very appealing and makes it very difficult to leave the job.

Cons

Your personal life will slowly fade away and you'll find yourself falling asleep next to your balckberry instead of your partner night after night. You'll spend 5 days a week in another city/state for 6month - 1 yr long engagements... in between you'll get a short break and do it all over again. Many complain that they can't find a boyfriend/girlfriend, not realizing that their lifestyle does not breed any kind of relationship. If you are ok spending your weeks living in a hotel, coming home only to unpack, do laundy, and repack for Monday morning... and you're not much of a social person, then this is a great opportunity. The most succesful consultants are those that are social and enjoy meeting new people.

Pros

First and foremost, PwC's reputation as being the best in the audit industry is true - I haven't seen a company with such strict attention to details and training the reinforces it over and over again. The peers are fantastic to work with - almost everybody is a team player, knowledgable, and knows what they are doing, so you can rely on them to do good work. Training is about as good as there is in any industry, with strong online coursework, annual required training at different locations, Disney World for the interns, various travel opportunities (including international), and many mentors that you have no choice but to be a sponge. Reviews and feedback is given whenever you want it, and goes towards possible year end bonuses and career advancement, which is usually given full consideration. I loved my time at PwC for the most part.

Cons

With such a reputation in the audit industry, it goes with the territory that you feel sort of pressured to make sure you uphold that reputation by staying until 9PM and do a good job while you're at it. Busy season can take a toll on your body, which is a reason many people decides to grab a CPA and then run right out the door. The traveling varies from person to person, but some people seem to always travel and others never do. The life of an intern is so much better than associate - interns get OT and the same salary and get to go to Disney World - but all that goes away once you are full time - it's sort of like they be playing mind tricks on you. Benefits aren't great, with weak medical and dental, but salary is solid and in line with industry, but I could have gone into finance and received much more, but the "Big 4 CPA" title thing got to me.
