Pros

It is laid back. You can do what you want as long as you are doing a decent job. The thing I like best about this job is the location, New York city. The office is in Midtown. The Typical roles include modeling, looking at financial reports to see if company's are complient with latest regulation, and it seems like they are now trying to get in to valuing some of the more structured instruments that few people know how to value. The work is interesting and very current.

Cons

Can be long hours, atleast in SFG

Pros

The primary benefit of working with PwC is that you work with the best and brightest in the industry. This translates into obtaining very good experience that will prepare you for future opportunities. The overall compensation package is good and there are opportunities for significant bonuses especially at the senior associate and higher levels. Another benefit of working with PwC is that they have an excellent client base. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of clients from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. Finally one of the best parts about working at the company is the people, it would be rare for someone to walk away from the PwC experience without a significant number of new contacts and friendships.

Cons

Just like any of the other big 4 accounting firms one of the primary draw backs of public accounting in general is the significant number of hours you have to put in and the related lack of work-life balance. The ability to have a work-life balance depends upon many things including the type of person you are, the clients your assigned and the people you work with. As a new associate your usually stuck with the luck of the draw but as you progress with the firm you can be more proactive in putting yourself in a position that could result in better work life quality. That said, the firm has done a good job in establishing certain programs to promote work life quality.
