Pros

Exposure to challenging work Access to extensive database of technical and business information Opportunities for junior staff to work in different locations around the US and around the world

Cons

Upper level management and partners have very low understanding of what a true diverse environment is or how to create it. Leadership opportunities are given for the most part to people with connections or that have strong relationships with influencial partners.

Pros

We get more holidays than most. About 15 days. Start times in the morning are mostly flexible. Most people come in between 8.30 and 10. You have the ability to sometimes work from home Pretty good benefits package. It looks good on your resume

Cons

THE HOURS are ridiculous. Trust me, it's almost impossible to have friends and family outside of PWC. People date each other and sometimes marry each other because those are the only people you see. Teams are asked to work monday through sunday for weeks on end. Most times leaving no earlier than midnight. I personally think it's inhumane. The culture is such that people actually take pride in staying at work for 48hrs straight. Sometimes it's like a competition. The worst thing about it is that you don't get a bonus or any extra pay. For the hours we work, we don't get paid enough (62k for a 1st yr tax associate with MSA). Another big problem is that just because you are hired does not mean you will have work. Interns that know people will get work before you and it seems that minorities have a harder time getting staffed unless they knew people beforehand. This is bad because somehow it is your fault that you don't have work and you will be judged unfavorably for your low utilization (you will hear this word a lot). I don't recommend working here unless you are crazy in love with accounting and you are willing to sacrifice your personal life for a job that pays only slightly above average. If you don't mind those kinds of hours, i suggest you go into investment banking or medicine because the financial gain makes much more sense in those instances.

Pros

Flexibility and perks if you are traveling. A lot of freedom to work from home if needed. A lot of opportunities to move around.

Cons

Long hours, and stress level is a crap shoot depending on who your manager is. Can be great some days, can be really difficult.
